Chapter 6 Educational support
Article 26 Objectives and types
1. Educational support aims to create equal opportunity of access to school and successful learning, as well as to promote integral development of students.
2. The types of educational support include learning support, psychological counselling, study and vocational guidance, support of attending school for those who are limited in motion, student welfare and student health care.
Article 27 Learning support
1. The education authority and education institutions should use diverse forms to assist students to learn.
2. Learning support can be carried out through centres of complementary pedagogical support, supplementary classes or individual support activities.
Article 28 Psychological counselling and career guidance
1. The education authority provides students with psychological counselling, study and vocational guidance directly or through subsidising the related institutions.
2. The foregoing supporting system is governed by specific statutes.
Article 29 Support of attending school for those who are limited in motion
For the following students who are at the age range of compulsory education, the competent public sectors should adopt appropriate measures to provide support to enable them to enjoy the education opportunity and encourage them to complete their studies:
1) Students who are unable to go to school due to the limitation of motion ability;
2) Those who are subjected to the measure of internment.
Article 30 Student Welfare
1. Students and residents of Macao SAR who take the courses of formal education or recurrent education have the right to enjoy student welfare.
2. Student welfare is composed of the following items:
1) Student insurance;
2) Necessary subsidies of tuition, meals, study materials and auxiliary equipments for learning will be provided to students from families of economic difficulties.
3. The student welfare system is governed by specific statutes.
Article 31 Student health care
1. Students and residents of Macao SAR who are taking the courses of formal education have the right to enjoy free health care provided by the institutions of public health.
2. Through coordinating and cooperating with the public health institutions, the education authority and education institutions concern about students’ healthy growth, particularly the precaution and timely treatment of students’ unadaptation and deficiencies.
