Chapter 9 Material resources

Article 43 School construction

1. The government will provide appropriate assistance for the building or restoration of private schools in accordance with the feasibility, efficacy of the development plan, as well as its adequacy to the government education policy.

2. In formulating the city development plan for the Macao Administrative Region, the government should consider the requirements of education development, reserve land and arrange the relevant facilities.


Article 44 School building

1. To provide students with a good learning environment, the government should regulate the norms of the school building construction, especially the appropriate indoor and outdoor space for students, the number of students to be accommodated and the non-barrier environment that a school should possess.

2. In the scope of formal education, the education authority and schools should create conditions to adjust the number of students in class and the total number of enrolled students in school to the appropriate level.

3. The government encourages schools and communities to open mutually, schools should closely match with the development of the communities, so as to achieve the aim of making the best use of everything.


Article 45 Other material resources

Schools should equip other material resources in accordance with the stipulations of the law and the guidelines of the education authority, in particular:
1) Teaching materials and auxiliary materials;
2) Information and technology facilities;
3) Library;
4) Facilities of laboratory and workshop;
5) Sports equipment;;
6) Facilities of art education.
